Biography

Gordon E. Gibbs received his A.B. degree from Redlands, his M.S. from the University of California at Berkeley, his Ph.D. from the University of Califnornia in 1939 and his M.D. from the University of California in 1942. From 1943-45 Gibbs served as a commonder of a Medical Collecting Compay during several European campaigns and received the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medals. He served in the reserves from 1945-56 and the Air Force reserves from 1956-71, from which he retired as a colonel of the Medical Corps. He was professor and chairman of the pediatrics department at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine from 1956-1966.
