Dean, College of Public Affairs and Community Service, University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO).

"BJ Reed has been on the faculty of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) since 1982. He served as Chair of the Department of Public Administration from 1985 to 2000, and as Dean of the College of Public Affairs and Community Service from 2000-2011. Reed served as Interim Senior Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs in September 2011, and was formally appointed in 2012. In May 2018, Dean Reed announced that he would retire in 2019.

B.J. Reed was born in Hays, KS. He received a B.A. and an M.S. in Political Science from Fort Hays State University and a Ph.D. (1974) in Public Administration from the University of Missouri. The honors Professor Reed has received include the David Scott Professorship, the Young Alumni and Alumni Achievement Award from Fort Hays State University, and the 1999 UNO Chancellor’s Medal.

Scope and Contents

The Japanese noren was received by UNO Senior Vice Chancellor B.J. Reed from the City of Shizuoka at a September 2018 event at UNO hosting Shizuoka University President Kiyoshi Ishii. Noren are a curtain, which can be used at businesses or homes. This noren is a split curtain style and is more typically found in Japanese homes. The noren is navy blue with a red, blue, green, orange, and white floral design. An insert from the original packaging is also available.
