Biography

The Chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Omaha is the individual leading the university, subordinate to the University of Nebraska President and Board of Regents, and superior to all UNO vice-chancellors and deans. The Chancellor's Office includes a small core of administrators and assistants who support the Chancellor.

Ceremonial Shovel, 1988

Scope and Contents A ceremonial shovel from the ground breaking of UNO's first residence halls on September 30, 1998. The shovel handle is wood with a goldplated, round blade. Attached to the wooden handle is a commemorative identifying label attached with foam mounting tape. The plate was beginning to separate from the tape at the time of its arrival in the Archives. Chancellor's Medals Not Awarded, circa 2000

Scope and Contents

Four Chancellor's medals, along with four ribbons which would have been attached to the medals for wearing around the neck. The ribbons are not presently attached to the medals. The four medals are identical to one another. They would have been presented by the chancellor to a faculty or staff member in recognition of an outstanding contribution to UNO. The medals in the collection are unawarded specimens.

UNO Durango Stress Toy, circa 2010

A squeezable stress toy in the shape of Durango, the UNO mascot. Durango is black with white horns and eyes. "Go Mavs!" written in red is on Durango's neck. It is approximately 4.5 inches long and 3.5 inches tall.
