Biography
The Omaha Mavericks comprise all of the sports teams of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Beginning in 2011, Omaha Mavericks teams compete in NCAA Division I tournaments. UNO teams have been called the Mavericks since 1971. Prior to that, they were the Indians (1939-1971) and the Cardinals (1908-1939). The team colors have always been red and black.

Scope and Contents
The February 2016 accession includes: a UNO wastebasket, a UNO Maverick Hockey flag, a UN Omaha pennant, and a 1996 UNO football poster. The poster was transferred to the UNO Poster Collection.
