Biography

The University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS) comprises eight academic units plus several subunits, including the Division of Continuing Studies, the School of Public Administration (which includes the Emergency Services Program, Urban Studies, the Aviation Institute, and the NASA Nebraska Space Grant Consortium), the Grace Abbott School of Social Work, the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (which includes the Lincoln campus program, the Nebraska Center for Justice Research, and the Juvenile Justice Institute), the Department of Gerontology, the Goodrich Scholarship Program, the Center for Public Affairs Research, and the William Brennan Institute for Labor Studies.



CPACS was originally established at UNO in 1972 as the School of Public Affairs and Community Service (SPACS). In 1973, it was upgraded to the College of Public Affairs and Community Service.
