Biography

The Writer's Workshop, also called the Department of Creative Writing, at the University of Nebraska at Omaha offers an undergraduate program built on an apprenticeship model. It is part of the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media. It was founded in 1972 by UNO professor Richard Duggin, who served as coordinator for many years. The program was originally known as the UNO-Community Writer's Workshop. The name was shortened to Writer's Workshop circa 1982.

Scope and Contents

UNO Writer’s Workshop events include the Good Thunder Reading Series featuring poet Arthur Homer and the Missouri Valley Reading Series, which included writers such as Bill Holm, Judith Slater, Erin Belien, Judy Blunt, and others.
